New Statistic tail on Admin board and User visit history found in management sections for user, entity & report.
To make it easier for you to understand the user adoption and your client’s engagement history, we have made interaction statistics available in the Admin user interface.
Kindly note that this release currently has limited functionality, with more to come at a later date. We ask that you try the following features out and let us know your feedback. Once we have reviewed your requirements and request, we can work towards developing additional user-engagement features and improvements.
Statistic tail on the Admin board
Explore the new tail we have made available to view aggregated usage statistics for all reports and entities. Here, you get an overview of what is most frequently used, how many interactions are received, ongoing trends and in addition, email domains that are interacting with your service.
Statistic elements are clickable
Click the column chart to see details and trends for that column. Hover your mouse over the elements to reveal the information. Utilize the email domain pie chart to see who has been interacting.
User visit history shows on Manage Report, Entity and User
A new feature to help you understand user activity on a single report, entity or user can be found in their respective management sections. Under the history icon , you will find a new tab entitled “User Visits History”, beside the old “Admin Operate History”. Click it to see the latest interactions details. Click ‘Load more’ to access older interaction history data.
User visit history in Manage User
You can now explore engagement information on individual users, see when he/she interacted, what entity he/she looked at, and the number of interactions (YTD) that have made.
User visit history in Manage Entity
You can dig into a single entity to see when this entity was accessed from the Home menu and by whom.
In the example below, you can see the latest interaction on this entity (named Demo), by whom, and the number of interactions (YTD) made with that entity.
User visit history feature in Manage Report
You can now dig into individual reports to see when this report was interacted with and by whom. In the below example, you can view the entity that was used when interacting, by whom, and the number of Interactions (YTD) made on this report.
Privacy level on dataset and data sources can be set in Manage File
You can select the dataset privacy level when you upload a new report. Note, existing reports you have already uploaded are currently set to the default privacy level, “None”. You can now choose from the available options.
During upload, all data sources in your PowerBI dataset will be set according to what you selected.
Data privacy levels: these specify how isolated one data source is from the others.
‘None’ has been the default for old datasets.
NB: any privacy levels set in the Power BI Desktop are not transferred during upload. This means that you will need to set the privacy levels again once the upload is complete.
Use this field to set it again for the dataset you are uploading. Once the upload is completed, you can set the privacy levels for each data source individually by clicking on the dropdown arrow and using the Privacy Level selector within.
Please note that you can set privacy levels on SQL, AzureBlobs, Web and OData data sources. Local files are not supported.
Change the privacy level on one or several data sources
After uploading, or when you click to edit a report and ‘Load data source status’ you will see each data source used in the Power BI report.
Click on the dropdown arrow and using the Privacy Level selector within the data source you want to change. Click “save” when finished.
If needed, do the same for another source. Click “save” when finished.
Privacy-level organizational may be required for a successful data refresh
If the privacy level in Power BI Desktop data source is organizational, you must set it on the data source in your service too, to avoid refresh failure.

For consistency, “Show Report Page Menus” settings are moved from Manage Files to Manage Reports.
All report settings are now done on “Manage Reports”, and the value set has been transferred from “Manage File” to “Manage Report”. As before, you use it to control the appearance of the report page menus. This is usable when own navigation is built in rich Power BI reports, where page menu navigation should be disabled. Not to worry, your old settings can be found in “Manage Report”.
Public viewer - ability to now see entire entity names.
If you are using Public Viewer, you know that that ability to view entire entity names. Simply hover over the entity, to reveal the full name.
Public viewer is not a new feature. But an important one for those who want to allow interaction with analytics without Veracity login. Or setup a “freemium” business model. To enable it, go to “Manage Entity” and toggle it on. Make sure that the dataset is public without any secrets. Veracity for Developers
Selling or enabling free access to users from the Veracity Marketplace.
Veracity Marketplace page can be set up to promote your service and sell access to the entities in your service.
For easy access to entities. A “Try-before-you-buy” option can be setup using VAP Public Viewer. Another way is to allow free access using the ‘Awaiting for Approval’ process. End users see the service tag on Veracity My Services with ‘Awaiting approval’. After the Admin user has added the user to his service and shared access to the entity, the tag is removed, and the user can access it. VAP with this release support awaiting approval tag to be removed, when user added to you service.
